Crosscut Plain used in Cabinetry. Curved laminated blade. I don't believe these are being made by any blacksmiths anymore due to limited demand (routers have replaced specialty and molding planes). I imagine it would be difficult to make the blade and the dai. From what I have read The Inomoto family (Isao, Ko and their father) made specialty dai similar to this (this dai is not marked) until the 1950's when they changed to making flat plane dai (block and finish planes) as the demand tapered down for moulding planes.
